Why Is The Louisville Cardinals Women’s Basketball Team Throwing Up Gun Fingers With Kevin Durant On ABC? (VIDEO)

During the Knicks/Thunder game, ABC aired a video of Kevin Durant paying a locker room visit to the Final Four bound Louisville Cardinals women’s basketball. They looked starstruck. Maybe that explains why, when they posed for a picture with Durant (and what appears to be Hasheem Thabeet), three of them inexplicably flashed “gun fingers.” Not to make a mountain out of a mole hill, but it looked weird given the events of the last few months (or few hundred years if you’re a real stickler.) Especially when the girl in front awkwardly switches the gun sign to a peace sign. Good idea. Oops!

CORRECTION: They are throwing up sideways-backwards-L’s for Louisville, which just look like guns, when, ya know, you make them look like guns and not the letter “L”. But the sign is ubiquitous amongst Louisville faithful whence done correctly. Like this…

They’re throwing up “Ls”, dillweed. L as in Louisville. You might have seen 10,000 people do the same thing every women’s home game all season. Or, you might have seen fans of the men’s team do so, if you’ve watched a nanosecond of college basketball this season. Or, perhaps, you might have seen the same hand gesture approximately 19,000 times during the broadcast of the sugar bowl. There are rap songs for Cardinal teams asking them to “throw them Ls up”. Those aren’t “gun fingers”. How ignorant can you be?

  • Jake O’Donnell

Probably should change the sign then.

  • ProudStudent

If you look at school events you’ll also see that the majority of people do the same thing. Not to mention cheering fans also support our “L”s

Another “politically correct” moronic sports writer…..

‘….sideways-backwards-L’s for Louisville, which just look like guns, when, ya know, you make them look like guns and not the letter “L”. But the sign is ubiquitous amongst Louisville faithful whence done correctly. Like this…’

Nobody’s taking out a protractor to measure the angle of their hand, nor does anyone need a lecture from some wanna-be sportswriter on how to do something their school invented. There is no “done correctly.” This isn’t a science; it’s a fucking on-the-fly hand signal to support your team.

Still can’t admit you’re wrong? Man the fuck up and admit a mistake without adding a caveat. You obviously have a lot of growing to do as a person. But maybe your approach is right; this ignorant article is the only reason this no-name website and your dumb ass are getting any attention.

  • Chris Staley

Journalism, whence done correctly, does not look this desperate.

  • Bob

You should delete this article. The stupidity is killing me.

CORECTION: There is absolutely, positively no news here.

  • Sword of Damocles

It’s a U and an L to be precise. Two fingers together are the U, thumb and index are the L.

Wow. Gotta love the age of internet journalists- term used extremely loosely. Or as this writer has likely typed it, losely.
