Today In “ESPN Guys Get The Lyrics Wrong”
Today during the Kansas — Iowa State game, old-ass ESPN announcer Mark Jones quoted Lil’ Wayne’s “Right Above It.” But he got the lyrics wrong. Everyone is in a frenzy over this one, folks.
Going into commercial, Jones, who lists Lil’ Wayne as one of his favorite artists, saw his opening.
“If you know the words of Lil’ Wayne,” said the excited 50-year-old who got the words wrong, “Life’s a beach, and right now Melvin Ejim just walkin’ in the sand.”
A walk-off moment, if there ever was one. Except:
Life is a beach, I’m just playin’ in the sand
… is the actual lyric. Twitter? Up in arms. Video here:
