We Never Figured A Coach Would Have The Most Shameless Flop We’ve Ever Seen
Sometimes, when you see a particularly egregious flop, you can’t help but wonder: where’d they learn that? What win-at-all-costs coach could have preached such shameless gamesmanship along the way that they’re reduced to…this?
Well, if you happen to notice any players on Marshall’s basketball team taking an obvious dive at any point, we’re guessing their coach, Tom Herrion, might have had something to do with that aspect of their development. Why? Oh, no reason…
…just a hunch.
Seriously, we need to get Jack Edwards calling some Marshall games and see if he’d put up with any of that. Because he wouldn’t. And then Herrion would be shamed. Well, maybe no more shamed than he already is from this video making the rounds, but more immediately shamed, certainly.
And the worst part of all this is that it worked. Isaiah Sykes, the player who “ran into” Herrion there, was assessed a flagrant foul. Marshall won by one point. Looking at it again, the only way the reaction could even come close to making sense would be if Sykes caught Herrion in the throat. And even if Sykes did make contact with the coach, is there any way Herrion could have been as affected as he acted like he was? Draw your own conclusions from the video, but…no. No, there is not.
