There were a ton of NBA and MLB games last night. They included the Clippers beating on their older brother and the Rangers taking the rubber match from the Angels. Let’s talk about them.

Now the FBI is investigating ex-New Jersey Net/recently departed Rutgers director of player development/coaching abuse whistleblower Eric Murdock for allegedly attempting to extort the school for almost $1 million in exchange for the infamous practice videos. This just turned into a Sorpranos episode. All the juicy details after the jump.

No one likes being asked questions on national TV after a Final Four loss (SYR 56 – MICH 61). Especially when you know it could’ve been your last chance to win an NCAA title. Enter Jim Boeheim, your friend’s angry dad that is always yelling at him, in front of you, during mostly silent car rides to and from practice. “Mom, why can’t you take me, I don’t like Mr. Boeheim.” Video after the jump.

Middle Delaware State women’s basketball coach Sheila Kelly caught on tape shooting a t-shirt cannon at her players. “You can’t f**king hide from me!”

After leading for most of the night, Wichita State lost all the momentum and eventually the game to an inspired Louisville team. When Luke Hancock missed the second of two free throws with under 10 seconds to go, the Shockers had a chance to force overtime. But when Shocker Ron Baker grabbed the rebound and turned to run, he stepped right into Hancock’s waiting arms. The rest is history.

It’s not exactly a blood diamond, but NCAA Tournament games are a real cash cow that doesn’t pay the guys who toil on the ground, making it all possible. Don’t believe me? Pac-12 officiating coordinator Ed Rush has resigned amidst a “scandal” where he unfairly targeted Arizona coach Sean Miller. He resigned, but he seems to think this was all a big misunderstanding.

Well, I’ve gone on at length over the last couple days about my Rutgers fan perspective on the Mike Rice mess. What I didn’t expect to get was a reminder of why my love for Rutgers exists in spite of, rather than because of, the majority of my experience as a student. See the weirdness after the jump.
