It’s certainly strange, as someone suggested, given all the investigations of Palin, that McGinness could uncover a story everyone else had missed. 

Then again, McGinnis does not have quite the spotless reputation as a journalist someone would have you believe. He actually was on the losing end of a case brought against him by Jeffrey Mcdonald for fraud and breach of contract. The jury sided with Mcdonalsd, a former Green Beret surgeon convicted of killing his wife and two daughters, by the margin of 5-1.

To put this in its proper context, imagine a journalist getting spanked in court over an action brought by O.J. Simpson or Charles Manson.

This is just a gut reaction but I think there’s something really smarmy about McGinness. This latest allegation against Palin might be true but if so, who cares. The larger issue is how is it that it came up now and that whever knew about it decided to out Palin 25 years later after the incident. Clearly, the source is no friend of Palin.  Why was he or she silent so long?

I didn’t mean anything other than indicating any publicity is better than no publicity.  True or not it doesn’t matter.  It raises her profile because her fans will always be her fans, her detractors will always be her detractors.  Gossip sells.

The American public and its major media do not now and have never sought to “elevate this chick”.  On the contrary they have done everything short of actually assassinating her to drag her down.  And when the major media seek to drag someone down it is entirely reasonable to assume that the object of their derision is a person of high intelligence, integrity and accomplishment, as is the case with Sarah Palin.

Like I said, if this were true, it would have come out in the ’08 election. Palin decided about a year ago not to respond to every accusation made against her. I guess she recognized it was just a game of “let’s make up stuff about Palin and make her deny it”.

There has been so much stuff said about her. So many article, books, round table discussions, etc. with regard to her, that if this (or anything else in this book were true) it would have seen the day of light by now. This type of gossip is just too good to hang on to.

Todd issued a statement on behalf of her and her family stating the book was full of lies. And if Sarah sued everyone who said something untrue about her, she would spend all her time in depositions and court. I’m sure as a public official she knows the burden of proof regarding libel is extremely difficult when you live in the public eye. That is not a secret. So her not suing anyone means nothing.

This book will flop and by next week, no one will remember it. This author is about 2 years too late with his trash. Accusations have gotten so over the top with Palin that it has become a game of trying to out top the next one. I mean, what was the guy going to write about…the 298,543 story about how she and her former brother in law didn’t get along? He had to come up with something new. So here ya go. Unfounded accusations of drug use, affairs, etc. It’s just not believable. Even the NYT doesn’t believe it and they hate her.

None of this will stick. It is so over the top that it is not believable. I wish Palin would sue this guy. Maybe this type of trash would end. I’m sure she can’t win a lawsuit because she is a public figure and the burden of proof is high, but at least she could run up his legal bills and drag this out to where it drains his bank account. That is what Democrats tried to do to her, she should do it to them.

Sarah Palin was not in politics at the time and she represented no one so … what she did with her life at that time is no body’s business.

She was a journalist, and one of the most obvious rules of journalism ethics is that you don’t sleep with your subjects.

AN ideal situation is not to have sex till your married.  I can say an ideal situation is not to drink and drive and to have a designated drive or call a cab.  If I did DUI in my youth and learned from my mistake that doesn’t take away from what i said about drinking and driving today.  However going by your logic it does because you cant learn from your mistakes of youth.  You would call it hypocrisy.

How come there are so many people so willing to believe rumor just because they want to believe something about someone.  If the same exact story was done about Hillary Clinton, these same people making comments as if the story about Sarah Palin is true, would be typing here about how unfair the story is and full of innuendo and unsubstantiated rumors.

This is possibly the best news I have heard today.  SIMPLY HYSTERICAL.  And even better are the angry comments!!! Seriously, do people believe that she didnt have sex with anybody else other than her husband? I keep telling everybody that women between the ages of 18 and 45 LOVE black men!!!
