Shep Smith And Fox News Debate John Calipari’s Inherent Sleaziness

It looks like the disdain for John Calipari‘s recruitment methods extends all the way to cable news.

Shep Smith and some of his buddies on FOX News poked fun at the beleaguered Calipari, going so far as to refer to him as the coach of “Memphis High.”

In case you’re just joining us, ESPN analyst and legendary former coach Bobby Knight said some inflammatory things about Kentucky’s 2010 Final Four team today.

“Kentucky, [the] year before last, started five players in the NCAA tournament that had not been to class that semester,” Knight said to a group he was speaking to in Indiana. “That’s that one and none philosophy.”

That “one and none” philosophy is exactly what Shep was alluding to with his “Memphis High” remark, the insinuation being that Kentucky is less a university, and more of a high school for talented basketball recruits. Yikes.

Well use to like to watch Shep but i guess i won’t anymore with about 3 million other Kentukians

Being a graduate of the University of Ky I find the remark very offensive. I am a Kentuckian and very proud of it. You should keep comments of this sort to yourself. And I am a viewer of Fox news but that is very degrading to the people and fans of Kentucky Basketball.

If Shep Smith knew what he was talking about, first of all, the 2010 team was not a Final Four. They only made it to the Elite Eight. Gee, if they can’t even get that right, who would believe or listen to anything they have to say.

I take offense at shep, did he even go to college, and what business is of his to trash John Calipari,a lot of other schools have kids who just stay one year, but the jealousy against ky.(the winningest program in college ball) is overwhwelmingly ridulous…lost another viewer fox, used to like this network, but uou overstepped your boundary…

  • cat fan too…

at least one of the three guys knew what he was talking about.if your son was nba caliber,I bet you would send him to kentucky too…..don’t lie… God is listening

S S if you actually did you research you would find that Cal’s Memphis teams had a boat load of three and four year players. At most he would end up with a single One and Done per year. It is very likley if he didn’t steal away in the dead of night with the incoming team he may have had a large number of One and Dones every year as he did at Kentucky. But your Memphis High comments was completely imcalled for and misplaced. He had as many One and Dones in his first year at Kentucky than he did his entire career atr Memphis.

I believe that Shepard Smith is a Duke Graduate. No wonder he takes and supports cheap shots at UK. As a so called reporter for Fox, I would suggest getting the facts, then making a factual report. Your integrity is on the line Shepard none truths, rumers and hearsay, not the University of Kentucky or Mr Calipari’s. I am surprised your editor at Fox would allow you take such a cheap shot at a consevative state like Kentucky. I am sure whenever your time slot comes on Fox, I will not be watching. I can longer believe anything that comes out of your mouth. Your example character has been set in stone.

Shep went to Ole Miss. Left just before graduating, apparently.

Only reason I need to not watch Fox new again. Booby Knight a credible source. You have to be kidding. BBN stop watching Fox news.
