Things You Can Teach: How To Dive For A Loose Ball Off An Elevated Basketball Court

This makes sense. If you’re Wisconsin’s men’s basketball head coach Bo Ryan you probably should take a few minutes to teach your players how to dive for loose balls at Williams Arena, home of the Minnesota Golden Gophers.

Seeing as it’s elevated about two-and-a-half feet off the actual floor, there’s no harm in getting a few tuck and rolls in. And that’s exactly what the Badgers did prior to tonight’s game against Minnesota. While it is only a two-plus foot drop, if you land the wrong way (see: any way but on your shoulder) you could seriously injure yourself. Or, on the flip side, if you don’t practice the dive you might not take the drop during the game, when it matters the most.
