AJ McCarron’s Mom Mocked Jameis Winston’s Speech On Twitter, Then Deleted It And Apologized (Kind Of)

Moms are not supposed to go there. Not even Alabama moms. Can Dee Dee McCarron — mom of Roll Tide QB AJ — be excused if she got a little frisky with Twitter and made light of Jameis Wintson’s speaking ability following the BCS Championship Game last night?

Not cool … but she quickly deleted it, and so we can all put this behind us. Except that Dee Dee went back to Twitter and issued one of those half-assed, non-apology apologies.

No, it didn’t really offend me. But your apology did.

Here’s the transcript of the speech. (Video here).

“We champions,” Winston said. “We can share that. We are champions together. And through everything that we went through. Through all the haters. Through every single thing, we came our victorious. God did this. I’m so blessed. He’s so blessed. All the stuff that he handled with Ethan (Fisher, the coach’s son) and he come out here and coach us? That touched me. And it’s nobody but God. It’s nobody.”

LeBron James liked Winston’s speech.

Others … ?

UPDATE: Katherine Webb also got into the act. This is even worse.

Surprise, surprise – Bama’s full of trashy racists. Oh wait, not a surprise at all!

  • Lew

Uh, the interview was pretty incomprehensible. That was not the King’s English. Just sayin’…

  • Sacfat

The purpose of language is to communicate. Were you unable to understand the message he was trying to convey?
I do business in SE United States and have difficulty comprehending the ‘English’ being employed by locals in a number of rural areas.
No doubt you’ve been critical of people who use “y’all” and “do what now?” and “over yonder” etc. etc. etc.?

  • Lew

That was the opposite of communicating.

  • Sacfat

So you were incapable of understanding his message?
No idea what he was trying to convey?
Speaks volumes about your intellectual capacity.

  • Sacfat

PS – upon closer scrutiny of your post – “the King’s English”?
LOL, two issues you might be unaware of:
    a) the United States is no longer a colony of England (been a few hundred years, actually)
    b) if it were, it would be the QUEENS English that white southern racists would aspire to speak since England has not had a King since the 1950′s.

Guess AJ’s mom and girl friend not quite over that Heisman voting thing and the last two ass whooppins their baby took..

  • Anonymous

The ‘er’ slipped out the crack, that’s all.

  • Lee Tanner

The last Alabama quarterback to be a regular starter in the NFL was Richard Todd–he was drafted 38 years ago. Better get that College GameDay audition tape ready, A.J.

  • Roc504

    lol right

  • Roc504

now run tell dat!! (that) since you’re slow

  • JerseyShoreGiant

or the reality that Jameis is probably going to be a top 5 pick(probably even #1 overall) and their boy AJ might hang around for a year or two in the NFL.

I’m a black male. You will NEVER get me to defend English as spoken by COLLEGIATE athletes. At some point we have to examine the system that allows children to mature into young adults (and thereby adults) that cannot speak the language of the country. ORRrrrrrrrrr.. we just need to accept that English is another language totally separate from “American” -which is some patois spoken within our boarders.

  • Mezeus

And this guy will graduate with a collage degree. Doesn’t say much for collage degrees does it. I predict he will never be a C.E.O.

  • Mezeus

    Hey bro what it be?

  • Ham Boner

Borders…but yea, dude’s in college, and he didn’t have to pass any American language courses to get out of high school.

  • Seahawk

Not if you have one and can’t spell it.

  • Seahawk

Not exactly the second coming of Joe Namath the Jets were hoping for.

  • Common Sense

Thank you Dee Dee Kent McCarron Bonner McCarron (back to previous married name because NFL) for showing the world your ugly bitterness & disgusting hypocrisy. She may not be racist but she is infamous for attacking people on Twitter who even constructively or professionally critique AJ.

She promotes herself as a charitable soul who loves children yet has never, not once, tried to promote the efforts to find her brother Dustin Kent’s niece, Brittney Wood – even before he was arrested the first time. Brittney disappeared almost two years ago from his neighborhood in Mobile, AL.

Dee Dee and her family knew Brittney (obviously) but never even so much as sent a RT about her. Nor has she spoken out against her brother’s multiple charges of r@pe & inc3st of multiple children under 12 (large family ped0 ring). She has never distanced herself from her parents who housed him & are likely the “mysterious” benefactor paying for his very expensive private attorney… unless the longterm coverup goes into even deeper pockets.

A note to Dee Dee – your brother Dustin goes back to court again in Baldwin County on Friday for five of his numerous indictments, correct? Here’s hoping that karma bus keeps on rolling through the charges in Mobile County!

I also hope you find some of that integrity you always preach about and finally try to do some good for the child victims in your own family. MCSO & KlaasKIDS are still looking for Brittney’s body in Dustin’s old neighborhood – your dad still owns the trailer, right? Maybe you can use that as an opportunity to finally contribute.

As a black man and former COLLEGIATE athlete, I think your criticism of collegiate athletes is rather harsh.

  • Ray

Some of these comments are rather harsh!!! It seems that we are judging this individuals ability to speak standardized English (if there is a such thing), yet television shows such as Duck Dynasty are rated #1. All of the Duck Dynasty cast have a degree from a four year university. Moreover, President Bush was notoriously inarticulate and he had a graduate degree from Harvard and became the President!!! Please cut the young guy a break. He just accomplished something that no one else has accomplished (hesiman trophy and a national championship as a freshman)!!!

  • Truecolorscouture

How would this “mother” feel if people were hurtful to her perfect son? What gives anyone the right to put down another? Not sure what makes this “Mom” so special, or her group of followers. Maybe her son can teach her how to act in public.

  • Lew

    Yes. I’m the “dumb” one:)

  • Name hor

He may or may not be a rapist, but he is definitely a retard.

  • Anonymous

Sorry Ray, but if you re-read my post I’m clearly taking a swipe at the institutional production of “college students” that seem incapable of speaking correctly.. If my granddad can speak well without a formal education, you would think kids who attend American colleges and American high schools could as well. I got nuthin but love for the big time collegiate athlete. But, considering the 90+ percent that will never earn a professional paycheck, wouldn’t it be a good idea to prepare them for professional life by at least teaching them proper rules of speech and grammar? Life is way more harsh than Ricciricci will ever be (the big time athlete should also be paid in the same manner I was paid to attend graduate school in the sciences.)
