America’s Prayers Have Been Answered: Brett Favre Returns To Television

as a college football color analyst, but still. Brett’s BACK, BABY! We’ve all been waiting for this from the moment the Vikings’ disappointing 2010 season wrapped up. We’ve held out hope through every rumor, whether joking or not, that we might keep Brett in our lives another year. And now, though it’s only (for now) for one game against Rice, our wish is granted. Mark your calendars for October 1: that’s when this glorious event is going down. Here’s what Favre had to say:

“I’m excited to be back at Southern Miss with the Golden Eagles. I’m not committing to a new career in broadcasting

Really, Brett? Waffling like this? NOT the Favre we know! He continued:

but just wanted to support Southern Miss and check out the view from the press box. It should be fun and I hope the fans enjoy it.”

Oh, WE WILL, Brett, just like we’ve enjoyed each and every other stage of your career. So if your home gets the channel CSS (on which Southern Miss-Rice will be broadcast), consider yourself lucky, as you will be among the proud few to get a glimpse of the gunslinger as he spreads his wings. And hey, who knows, maybe Favre will start making a career out of this, and we can track his development and oh god he’s pulling us into his web again. Let’s just hope he does something like this instead.
