Bros Watching Sports! Your Sports-On-TV Guide For Saturday, October 20

Even with the NHL season on hiatus, we are officially entering the busy portion of the sports year. The MLB playoffs have begun, the football season is approaching the midway point, and the NBA preseason is underway. With so much going on, it can be difficult to keep track of everything worth watching. Here’s your Saturday guide to TV.

All times Eastern.

College Football

No. 6 LSU at No. 18 Texas A&M – 12:00PM, ESPN

Kickoff the day’s action with a solid matchup of two matched teams. Who knows which Aggies team will show up, but you know LSU will bring their A-game; they need this win badly going into their matchup again no. 1 Alabama next week.

Virginia Tech at No. 19 Clemson – 12:00PM, ABC

I literally have nothing to say about this game. I almost can’t believe ABC is showing it. Is anyone interested? Just such a “meh” matchup, no?

No. 24 Iowa State at Oklahoma State – 12:00PM, FX

A fringe team vs. an unranked team. Give FX a break; they haven’t been doing this that long.

No. 20 Stanford at California – 3:00PM, FOX

Remember when Stanford was ranked 21st and upset No. 7 USC? They’re 1-2 since. Woof.

No. 7 South Carolina at No. 2 Florida – 3:30PM, CBS

Today’s GAME OF THE DAY. Make sure you catch this match-up of two top-10 teams, especially as South Carolina looks to rebound from last week’s heartbreaking two-point loss to LSU.

BYU at No. 5 Notre Dame – 3:30PM, NBC

Can Notre Dame keep rolling against BYU? Can BYU win a game against a ranked opponent? Nothing technically has to give, but some obvious questions will get answered.

No. 17 Texas Tech at No. 23 TCU – 3:30PM, ABC

These teams hate each other! But only in the way that all Texas teams hate one another. More accurately, these teams’ fanbases know each other from high school and look forward to catching up.

No. 1 Alabama at Tennessee – 7:00PM, ESPN

The best team in the country against an unranked opponent? On prime time television? Get the plastic sheets ready for a potential bloodbath.

No. 4 Kansas State at No. 13 West Virginia – 7:00PM, FOX

Can West Virginia’s Geno Smith get back on track against K-State after last week’s debacle against Texas Tech? West Virginia better hope so, because they were crushed by the then-unranked Red Raiders, and Kansas State is pretty good.

No. 14 Florida State at Miami (FL) – 8:00PM, ABC

Not so much a must-watch for the game itself as it is a must-watch to see if anyone actually hows up. Miami has had trouble filling the seats this year, maybe playing a ranked in-state rival will help?

Baylor at No. 25 Texas – 8:00PM, ABC

Can Texas rebound from getting absolutely destroyed by Oklahoma last week? Can Baylor rebound from being Baylor? Can anyone outside the state of Texas muster the strength to care?

Utah at No. 8 Oregon State – 10:30PM, ESPN

BYU is playing no. 5 Notre Dame, Utah is playing no. 8 Oregon State, Mitt Romney is playing no. 1 Barack Obama. Rough week for Mormons.

NBA Preseason

San Antonio Spurs at Miami Heat – 3:30PM, NBATV

A preseason matchup of what should have been the NBA Finals last season. Oklahoma City should have never made it that far. I can’t believe the Spurs folded against them so hard. I’m still upset about that. San Antonio would have beaten Miami in the Finals. LeBron should still be ringless. Ugh.
