Did Mike Gundy Really Fire A Construction Worker For Wearing An OU Shirt?

Throughout his time at Oklahoma State, head football coach Mike Gundy has built a reputation for making headlines off-the-field as opposed to on it, and the start of this college football season is no exception.

Gundy, who once angrily informed a reporter that he is in-fact 40-years-old, is being sued by Brent Loveland for $10,000 in damages, after Loveland claims that he was fired by Gundy from an installation job after Loveland showed up wearing an Oklahoma University t-shirt.

According to the suit, Gundy approached Loveland and said, “How dare you come into my house and offend my wife?” The suit states that when Loveland asked what Gundy was referring to, the coached replied by saying, “That (expletive deleted) shirt you have on.”

Loveland, who claims to have had reached a verbal contract to install $80,600 worth of trim on Gundy’s house, said that he had gotten dressed in the dark and was unaware that he was wearing an OU t-shirt. But regardless of the outcome of the suit, it’s hard to imagine this doing anything but adding to Gundy’s reputation for being a bit of a hot head.

This would be like an ESPN person showing up at work wearing a Fox News shirt….  I’m not sure why the writer doesn’t get it…..

A clear lack of respect for a sooner fan – He worked on Gundy’s parent’s house – Gundy was paying him THOUSANDS of dollars and the smart aleck shows up wearing an OU shirt?  Really?

Instead of appreciating the fact that Gundy hired him over contractors who were just as competent in Stillwater (OSU land) – this guy tries to be “funny”.
