This East Carolina Football Player Has The Greatest Linebacker Name Ever (Photo)

Yes, his name is “Dustin Lineback.” Yes, he’s a linebacker. No, it’s not possible to imagine a better name for a linebacker. At one time I thought maybe Pat Angerer was the ideal linebacker name, but I was gloriously mistaken. The best part: Lineback’s not just any linebacker – he’s a good one, leading East Carolina with 111 tackles going into today’s Military Bowl against Maryland. (That game, however, is not going too well for ECU as of this writing.)

Indeed, Lineback’s name almost seems an homage to the days when someone took a name based on their profession (Smith, Miller, etc.) And while it doesn’t appear that’s actually what is was – unless he has an unusually long family history of linebackers – well, his name is still “Lineback” and he’s still a linebacker, so this is all still perfect regardless.
