Nothing Like A Nice Little Knee To The Balls On A Saturday Afternoon

This is Illinois linebacker Jonathan Brown kneeing Northwestern’s Patrick Ward squarely in the groin. You’ll notice that he checked to make sure the coast was clear before he did so.

The coast was not at all clear, by the way. Cheap shots are a part of football — there is some downright nasty stuff that happens at the bottom of those piles — but the funniest part about Brown’s cheap shot is that he obviously checks to make sure no one is looking first. He did a horrible job, because the refs (as well as ESPN’s camera guys, and the thousands of people watching) were all over it.

Ward’s dad went to Illinois and Ward bought into Fitzgerald’s racist crap in recruiting and both of the father Ward’s kids picked schools other than Illinois. While I completely agree that Brown should be suspended, kudos on doing it to Ward. Outside of the head coach, he is definitely the person on NW’s team that deserves a knee to the groin.
