Justin Bieber’s Ringtone: Football Coach’s Famous “I’m A Man! I’m 40!” Rant

This is pretty hard to believe, but hilarious and great all the same. A few days ago, while conducting a radio interview, Justin Bieber’s phone rang. It was Jaden Smith, son of Will and Jada Pinkett.

You might be thinking, “Why, that is neither hard to believe nor hilarious and great. SportsGrid, you have let me down.” Well, fear not: the real highlight is what played when Smith’s call arrived: Oklahoma State football coach Mike Gundy’s infamous rant from 2007, in which he yelled, “Come after me! I’m a man! I’m 40!” (If you’ve seen it before, which you probably have, it’s well worth revisiting; if you’ve never seen it, drop what you’re doing and watch now.)

Now, the cynic in all of us might wonder if some marketing genius behind Bieber’s stardom pushed for such ringtone, as it might help win over a significant segment of the population that doesn’t care a bit about Bieber. But then, Bieber went on to not only prove this was his ringtone for everything, but also display an impressive command of Gundy’s rant.

Watching the video below, it’s pretty safe to say Bieber is a legitimate fan of the tirade (if not college football in general), which is a fact we can safely say we would not have predicted, but enjoy more than we should. Here’s the video – he’s one step closer to making Beliebers of us all.
