Nick Saban Statue Is Significantly Less Intimidating With Purple Cape Added

On November 5, Alabama and LSU square off in a game rich with national title implications. They’re two of the top three teams in the country (Oklahoma is the other), and whoever wins will be on the fast track to playing for the championship. And while there’s business left for both the Tigers and Tide to take care of before that meeting, it’s clearly a game already on the minds of both fanbases. How on their minds. Daniel Roth, who apparently works for Alabama’s student newspaper, reports that the statue of Alabama coach Nick Saban outside Bryant-Denny Stadium in Tuscaloosa was, um, creatively altered by LSU fans, and provided the following photo evidence:

Nothing to take the edge off one of the most intense guys in the business like pretty much turning him into Bart Simpson’s superhero alter ego Bartman. Is anyone sure Les Miles himself didn’t do this? Taking it a step further, we’d pay a tidy sum to see Saban coach a game wearing this thing – or for the knowledge that the statue actually comes alive at night, puts on this cape, fights crimes, and just forgot to take it off today. (Nah, actual Saban coaching in it is still the best option.)
