Oof: LSU Quarterback Mixes Up Thomas Jefferson, Sitcom Character

LSU’s quarterback is Jordan Jefferson. He struggled at times last season (seven touchdowns, 10 interceptions), but he played well in 2009 (17 TDs, seven picks), and his ability to return to that form will determine whether LSU can repeat their success of 2010, when they went 11-2.

As Jefferson will be such a prominent player on a national contender this coming season, SportsCenter had him on for a chat today…and as long as they had him, they decided they’d test his knowledge of some other well-known Jeffersons. However, it didn’t go quite like they were probably expecting:

Either everyone forgets about this little slip-up by the time the season starts, or every SEC stadium LSU plays in (except its own, of course) rings with chants of “Geooooooooooorge!” throughout 2011. Not much in-between potential here. Or maybe the stadiums will just play the theme song from The Jeffersons. Really, we’re just glad Jefferson’s last name isn’t Revere.
