Quick, Enjoy Oregon’s Mascot Parodying “Gangnam Style” Before “Gangnam Style” Parodies Get Old

If reading this post does not constitute the first time you have looked at the internet in your life (and if it does: sorry, this is a pretty weird internet intro. This site should have everything you need to get up to speed. Oh, and this), there’s a good chance you’ve seen the video for “Gangnam Style,” the track Korean rapper Psy used to win the internet earlier this summer.

And like any internet sensation, “Gangnam Style” was met with parodies attempting to piggyback off that popularity. Why, we shared one in our link roundup just yesterday that featured the Photoshopped-in heads of various MLB stars. And today, a new one emerged. This one, though, unlike the computer-created parody of yesterday, was the real deal. Well, as much as anything featuring a person dressed in a duck suit dancing around could be considered the real deal. A bored Oregon mascot is capable of remarkable things:

While this is fun and everything, we feel like we also owe you a warning: enjoy this while you can. Sure, right now you can’t get enough “Gangnam Style,” but that will change, and it will change quickly. It won’t be long before you’re as tired of “Gangnam Style” parodies as you already are of “Call Me Maybe” parodies. We’re glad the duck struck while the iron was still relatively hot – if this had come even a couple weeks later, Oregon might have been late to the party. But today, we ride that beautiful meme-wave. We guess we shouldn’t be surprised Oregon got in before the fad wore off… they’re renowned for working fast, after all.
