This week, UNC wide receiver Dwight Jones told reporters that someone hit him in the groin during Saturday’s game against Miami. As you can see above, Jones wasn’t lying: senior Hurricanes defensive tackle Micanor Regis can clearly be seen hitting him in the junk, and today Regis was suspended by the Hurricanes.
Some nasty things happen at the bottom of those piles — every sport has its unwritten rules, and “guys getting molested at the bottom of dogpiles” is one of football’s — but as you can see, there wasn’t much of a pile when Regis hit Jones. Next time he decides to have an impromptu speedbag session, he should at least wait until there’s a couple of offensive linemen between him and the TV cameras.
