RotoExperts Fantasy College Football: Sean Mannion And Brandin Cooks Will Light It Up Again In Week 4

For the second straight week, there aren’t a lot of intriguing matchups in the ‘real’ world of college football. However, for Fantasy purposes, there are plenty of matchups that you should be very excited about.

Oregon and QB Marcus Mariota are on a bye this week, so there will be plenty of Fantasy owners looking for a replacement. They might not need to look far, as Oregon State QB Sean Mannion is available in plenty of leagues despite gaudy numbers during the early part of the season. If he is already off the board, as our own Brandon C. Williams points out, LSU QB Zach Mettenberger is starting to gain traction in Fantasy circles.

There are plenty of top-tier running backs with juicy matchups, and big points are sure to follow. Several of the top options face FCS opponents, including Ohio State’s Jordan Hall (vs Florida A&M) and Washington’s Bishop Sankey (vs Idaho State). Hopefully you’re not facing either of those two in standard head-to-head formats. Iowa’s Mark Weisman is often overlooked, but he has been very consistent to date.

Among the wideouts, Oregon State’s Brandin Cooks delighted Fantasy owners with a huge performance in an OT win at Utah last week, cementing him in the top spot of this week’s rankings. He and his fellow Beavers should pile up plenty of offense against Mountain West punching bag San Diego State in SoCal. Vanderbilt’s Jordan Matthews should also shine in a road game against non-AQ doormat Massachusetts. If you’re looking for a sleeper, Ball State’s Willie Snead has hooked up plenty with QB Keith Wenning, helping Fantasy owners in leagues which include non-AQ teams for selection.

Lastly, Texas Tech’s Jace Amaro has emerged as the strongest Fantasy tight end in the country, as he frequently has the eye of his QB Baker Mayfield. Expect at least 10-12 targets and a boatload of yards for Amaro.
