Jerry Sandusky’s Lawyer Reminds Him That He’s Not Sexually Attracted To Kids

Jerry Sandusky’s lawyer should probably stop letting him talk to people.

The New York Times sat down with Sandusky for four hours over two days at the home of his lawyer, Joe Amendola. The entire interview is worth watching, because it’s the first time the former Penn State assistant coach has answered on-camera questions about the 40 counts of sexual abuse facing him. And one moment in particular highlighted the precariousness of putting a guy (who doesn’t have much of a filter and is facing a litany of sex abuse allegations) in a room with a camera and a journalist.

Sandusky talked about that very simple yes or no question Bob Costas asked him in his now-infamous interview on NBC on November 15th. That question: are you sexually attracted to young boys? At the time, Sandusky’s wandering, 16-second response isn’t what you want to hear when an adult is asked that.

People should know that there’s a legal argument that’s had a lot of success in criminal cases to the effect that there’s a constitutional right to be assured ‘effective legal representation’. I’ve never actually heard of any court or any state bar association stepping in on it’s own to act to have a lawyer removed for this reason at this stage, that is, in doing the ‘talk circuit’ much as Rod Blagoyevich did (tho Blago was a lawyer too) but at each point further guaranteeing there’s no one in wider and wider jury pools who will have failed to reach an opinion in advance of trial. The only sense that I can see here is that’s what’s happening, as the Plan: to reverse infect the entirety of the country as the ‘jury pool’. Maybe Sandusky’s lawyer has some specific county in mind somewhere where long-term mass methodical child rape and abuse is within typical community standards – as it appears to have been since the mid-1970s in Happy Valley.

1. His lawyer has some sexual boundaries issues of his own. He was convicted of knocking up a 16 year old client. He was 49 at the time……………
2. His lawyer is the one seated screen left of Costas in the interview. Costas was on the Daily Show last week and said the interview was supposed to be the lawyer. About 10 min before air time, wonder lawyer asked if Bob wanted to talk to Jerry.

So yeah, worst lawyer ever.
