Let’s Watch A Georgia Assistant Flip Out On Vanderbilt’s Coach In Slow Motion

Georgia earned a hard-won 33-28 victory over Vanderbilt last night. In close football games, emotions run high. When it’s a close football game and you’re kind-of-crazy Georgia defensive coordinator Todd Grantham, emotions run very high. Grantham was none too pleased about…something, apparently related to his players – and, we guess, Vanderbilt’s conduct toward them? Explanations seemed vague, but Grantham’s feelings were anything but. Safe to say, Georgia-Venderbilt is one to circle on your 2012 college football calendar.

Vanderbilt is making a lot of holding and chop blocks.  I don’t like Georgia, Grantham looks more like a redneck confused that Franklin isn’t Muslim, but I will be honest, there were some dirty blocks, holds, and cheap shots by Vandy in that game.

I like his bulldog attitude (no pun intended). It was refreshing to see a coach adamantly stand up for his player. In watching back on the whole scene, it was Franklin that got his “feelings hurt” like a child that UGA players were celebrating their win. I didn’t know when the final whistle blows you have to immediately sprint into the locker room before you can celebrate the moment with your teammates. Most DC’s have that pitbull personality. UGA’s prior DC was even more reserved on the field than Richt is (and that is borderline commotose). I would be that Brian Van Gorder, who was also pretty fiery, would have defended his player as Grantham did when Franklin started pointing out another team’s player. And yes, Vandy was getting some cheap shots on chops and holds that were blantant and not called. The holding is what it is, but chop blocking can end a guys career…why do you think Geahters went after the Vandy player. Geathers is not a dirty player, but eventually enough is enough and if the ref’s don’t call it, then the player will do something to defend himself.

I used to have respect for Vandy…now, they’re just as dirty as any other team, but then acts like cry babies when the game doesn’t go their way!

SRD….Stand up for a player that’s taunting the opposing coaches?  Are you kidding me?  Who got called for the personal foul penalty’s?  Two for number 36, but that was the only 2 that got called.  UGA players are classless so that reflects on the university.
