USC Continues Tradition Of Promoting Sportsmanship, As Evidenced By This Gratuitous Cheap Shot

After last week’s upset loss to Stanford, USC needed to bounce back against Cal yesterday in a big way, not only for their own title hopes, but for quarterback Matt Barkley’s Heisman Trophy hopes as well. Apparently, part of bouncing back includes delivering cheap shots.

Watch the GIF below wherein USC tight end/really cool guy with awesome morals Junior Pomee blindsides an unsuspecting Cal player, leading with his shoulder and meeting him with a helmet-to-helmet collision.

USC Cheap Shot

What an upstanding young man. If that doesn’t make you root for USC football, I don’t know what will. Maybe if someone on the active roster commits a hate crime?

it was a hard hit but not a cheap shot. no HELMET-HELMET contact whatsoever. Watch the video before jumping to conclusions and badmouthing a program.

Junior squared up and made a clean hit without hitting the back or hitting him low, yes he lowered his shoulder, he is supposed to, he did not lower his head, there was no helmet to helmet contact, It was a shrimpy cal player with no business on a football field not paying attention, and watching, a play getting blocked, that its.
