WELCOME TO FASHION: Maryland To Wear All-White Uniforms, Look Fabulous Today

You may think you’re not supposed to wear white after Labor Day. Don’t tell that to the University of Maryland football team, which is erasing all conventions of fashion and will unveil new all-white uniforms in today’s game against No. 8 West Virginia.

The uniforms, which the team is calling “White Ops,” don’t appear to have any special designation other than they had a cool idea for all-white uniforms and decided to make them. But considering West Virginia is a 26-point favorite over the Terrapins today, and that we are WELL past Labor Day, this could be a huge misstep for Maryland.

Sure, the white uniforms look kind of okay now while they’re clean. But wait until we’re in the third quarter and they’re covered in grass, mud, paint, blood, errant Gatorade, and anything else getting splashed around in the locker room. Maybe this is just a round-about tribute to Jackson Pollock?
