The Man Who Has Been Impersonating Vince Young Looks Nothing Like Vince Young

Eagles quarterback Vince Young has more than a pulled hamstring to worry about – apparently a man has been impersonating him in the Washington, D.C. area. At a press conference Monday, Young put the word out that Stephan Pittman of Fort Washington, MD. has been pretending to be him.

Pittman’s scheme was blown wide open on Friday, when a Washington Examiner piece identified him as Young and claimed he was partying with former heavyweight boxing champion Riddick Bowe in Washington, D.C..  Someone representing Young asked that the picture be taken off the site because the man in the photo wasn’t the Eagles quarterback.

While it may seem funny on the surface, this story has a dangerous twist: Pittman is a registered sex offender and has been using his “fame” to get close to women and children.  Yikes.

Pittman has been pretending to be Young since June, and has been collecting appearance fees and soliciting money under the pretense that it is for the Vince Young Foundation charity.  Pittman has even gone so far as visiting sick children at a hospital.

Could he fool you?  Take a look at the picture below.

Ehhh. Dunno about that resemblance.

One person who didn’t completely buy into Pittman was Jonathan Pastore, who hung out with him in Philadelphia last week.  Says Pastore:

“My girlfriend was most probably the most skeptical. I asked him all these questions about how old he was, where he went to college and he was describing things like Georgetown, he was describing Austin and Houston down to a tee,”

But could he play the part?

“Dancing, partying, throwing up the Longhorn symbol like every five seconds.”

Ah. I suppose if you were to impersonate a Texas grad, all of those things would make sense.
