This Year, Aaron Rodgers Was Better Than Brett Favre Has Ever Been

Via Peter King: “Rodgers’ year, by most or all measures, is a better one than Brett Favre had in any of his three MVP years, 1995, ’96 and ’97. Favre was, in touchdown-to-interception ratio, 38-13, 39-13 and 35-16, and Rodgers’ completion percentage, yards and rating this year were better than in any of Favre’s three years.” So, yeah, taking Rodgers with the 24th pick in 2005 is looking pretty smart right about now.

See this is why I hate the Packers.

I do hope that nobody uses this as justification about choosing to go with Rodgers over Favre when Favre left. Because duh the younger guy is going to have his best years ahead of him and it worked out for both as Favre showed he still had something left in him and the Packers got their future started

You cannot compare players from 2 different eras. The present era protects the QB more than the Favre era which was more than the Bart Starr era. People who attempt to compare are clueless wonders trying to appear to be intelligent. Where was rogers when Majkowski went down in 1993 if Rogers is so much better? Rodgers was 9 years old when Brett Favre rescued the Packers from perpetual mediocrity. Stop trying to compare.

Rodgers was a first round pick who had already sat for three years. The Packers had to find out if he could play because Favre’s career was winding down. No player is bigger than a franchise and this is coming from someone who loved and still loves Brett. Those stats don’t make Aaron better than Brett but what does is his accuracy, decision making, Aaron is better at the line of scrimmage in my opinion. Brett was great but Brett was too much of a risk taker which ended up costing him more trips to the Super Bowl.

Brett Favre was a real nightmare. Interception after interception.

You can not compare time frames,  ex. eras of time 60′s vs 70′s and such things.  You can ,however, compare accomplishments of rivals in other time frames.  Aaron is a constant winner.  Brett was a constant gambler.

Boy, I sure would not consider that a player that imediately follows the previous “star” is in a different era! Joe Namath compared to Mark Sanchez is different eras. Rogers has performed MUCH better than Farvre with far fewer weapons and a consistently beat up offensive line.
