Adrian Peterson: Also A Mensch

On Saturday, Vikings running back Adrian Peterson suffered a gruesome injury that resulted in a torn ACL and MCL, and may even prevent him from starting the 2012 season on time. You couldn’t have blamed him for feeling down and completely preoccupied with the injury, one that has the potential to seriously mess with his career. But according to Vikings reporter Jeremy Fowler of the Pioneer Press in St. Paul, Peterson had a bit of unfinished business he refused to ignore:

Wow. One, how did Peterson even spot this kid? Two, signing the jersey at all would have been going above and beyond, but to still have it on his mind after he seriously hurt himself…talk about the kind of thing that’ll make you even more of a fan favorite than you already are.
