Albert Haynesworth FINALLY Passes Conditioning Test

Albert Haynesworth can practice with the Redskins, and we can stop talking about this. Earlier today, he passed his required conditioning test (required because he skipped the Redskins’ offseason program), ending more than a week of “drama” that eclipsed even the Brett Favre saga in absurdity.

Even the reasons Haynesworth was failing were strange – he was hampered by long bathroom breaks in between the two required shuttle runs, and then said his knee was acting up, though he then had an MRI that revealed no structural damage.

And all the while, this story had the feel of a power play by coach Mike Shanahan – he had to show that, if a player was going to demand trades and essentially quit on teammates, as Haynesworth did this offseason, there would be consequences.

But now, mercifully, all that is behind us. Haynesworth will put the pads on and actually play some football, and we get a reprieve from all this until the next Haynesworth distraction. Because let’s face it…it’ll be a miracle if we even make it through this season without another Haynesworth controversy. But for now, the break will be nice.
