Beckles Touched The Horse: A Tale Of Drunkenness, Horses, And Florida

Former Tampa Bay Buccaneers lineman and current Tampa radio personality Ian Beckles was arrested Friday night for harassing a police horse. Yes, that is a crime. Yes, you will be arrested for it. Yes, Beckles was drunk.

Don’t worry; this story is rated PG for alcohol consumption. No animals were actually harmed.

There isn’t really any way to make this story better, so just read the sequence events that led to Beckles’ arrest, courtesy of the Tampa Bay Times:

[Beckles] continued to heckle officers until he was asked to return to the sidewalk, police said. Then Beckles moved toward an officer on horseback and was told to stay away.

He moved from that horse and toward another, police said.

Another officer began to yell, “Don’t touch the horse! Don’t touch the horse!”

Beckles touched the horse, police said.

At press time, there is no word as to whether or not “Beckles touched the horse” will appear on the disgraced radio host’s tombstone.
