Christmas Spirit! Rex Ryan, Brandon Jacobs Have Delightful, Expletive-Laden Confrontation

You mess with the bull, you get that horns. That’s the lesson New York Jets head coach Rex Ryan learned ever-so-slightly on Saturday afternoon when his team lost to the New York Giants 29-14. Ryan, who is known for talking the talk, got an earful from Giants running back Brandon Jacobs on the field after the game.

The two men exchanged a few barbs after the game, with Ryan taking the road most commonly traveled, telling the media after the game that he and Jacobs had a “private conversation.” Jacobs, on the other hand, wasn’t afraid to share the details of their so-called private conversation.

Jacobs said he had an exchange with Ryan after the game in which the coach approached him, used an expletive and said, “Wait till we win the Super Bowl.”

Added Jacobs: “And I told him I’ll punch him in the face.”

Jacobs told ESPN’s Sal Paolantonio in an interview on the field right after the game that Ryan “is a very disrespectful (b——).”

Why don’t you tell us what you really think, Jacobs. He then went on to say, amazingly enough, that Ryan was a “big-mouthed coach” with a “big belly.” Yup, there’s no love lost between these two. Most of what Jacobs said of Ryan stemmed from his tendency to talk much too much trash before and after games — win or lose. It’s no surprise that someone would call him out for his antics.

Jacobs did add that he thought Ryan was a great coach from a great coaching family, but he once again reiterated that Ryan needed to “shut up.” It’s hard to imagine that anyone could shut up Ryan, especially someone who isn’t a part of the New York Jets organization, but maybe if enough dudes like Brandon Jacobs get on Ryan for his trash-talkin ways it might eventually tone him down a little. Maybe. One day.
