Oops: Broncos’ Official Website Briefly Features Texans Logo And Background?
The Denver Broncos are mainly in the news for signing that guy to that contract, but last night/earlier today they briefly got noticed for a different reason – it appeared a programming/design mixup briefly led to the Broncos’ website being held semi-hostage by the Houston Texans.
We contacted both the Broncos’ site and NFL.com to verify that this wasn’t a (very odd choice for a) Photoshop job, but have not heard back as of this writing. We imagine it was a legitimate mistake, since the Reddit thread that pointed out the lulzy error originally just linked to the Broncos’ website rather than screengrabs (which were thankfully provided later for posterity).
We won’t laugh too much at the Broncos’ misfortune here. After all, we’re a website. We know how one stray click can unwittingly lead to disaster. But let’s face it: a mistake of this scale (again, provided it’s actually a mistake, but there’s almost no way it wasn’t), happening to the most powerful sports league in the country, one with endless resources…well, it’s pretty funny.
Again via Reddit, photos of the mixup below. If we hear back from either site we contacted with any official word on what exactly happened, we’ll update this post.
