Want A Free Car? All You Need Is For The Browns To Shut Out The Steelers This Weekend

Who are the ‘ad wizards’ who came up with this one? Apparently the fine folks over at Bill Doraty Kia are pretty confident that the Pittsburgh Steelers will put up at least three points against the Cleveland Browns this weekend. Because, if the Browns shut out the Steelers on Sunday, they’re willing to give away FREE cars!

Nice try, folks. First of all, I’m not falling for this trick. There’s no way the Browns are shutting out the Steelers. Despite the fact that, yes, they held Pittsburgh to 14 points in Week 14, I still can’t see it happening. Let’s look at a few numbers, here.

There have been only five shut outs this season, two of which have had the Steelers on the right side of the scoreboard. Also, the last time the Steelers were shut out was in 2006, by the Baltimore Ravens. The Browns, yeah, they’re not quite the ’06 Ravens. Cleveland has had a nice year on the defensive side of the ball, but they’re still just ranked 10th in team defense. The Steelers, on the other hand are 11th in team offense. Is it possible? Sure. Is it likely. Not even close.

There’s also the fact that the Steelers still have a shot at winning the No. 1 seed in the AFC with a win and a loss by both the Ravens and Patriots. I don’t see them laying down and, not only losing this game, but getting shut out. But, if you’re going to buy a car this weekend anyway, might as well take the shot. Right?
