Chad Ochocinco Brags About His Madden ’11 Advance Copy, Infuriates Twitter Followers

EA Sports’ next Madden NFL game will be released August 10. The release of any new Madden game is a highly anticipated date on gamers’ calendars every year, but a lucky few don’t have to wait until then. Cincinnati Bengals receiver Chad Ochocinco is one of them, and true to his nature, he couldn’t resist bragging about it.

Always a theatrical sort, he set up the moment (which happened entirely on Twitter) with this tweet:

Shots fired. And already bragging, even before the main brag! Ochocinco knows how it’s done, bragging-wise. But seven minutes later (not the two he promised, tsk-tsk), he followed through with the main event:

The picture is the one you see at left, the “best gamer in the world” comment is awfully bold, and this appears to be the person he’s thanking (in which case, Ochocinco misspelled their name – tsk, tsk again, Chad).

Were fellow tweeters jealous? Of course. Some examples:

That was sort of anti-climactic for me! LOL I’m not gonna lie!

Some warned him of the supposed Madden cover jinx (“CHAD NEVER BE ON THE COVER! IT IS A CURSE!”), while others had more creative cover-related ideas: “You should have been on the cover with a sombrero ;).”

But we’d like to single out one comment especially. One guy decided he’d take Ochocinco’s bragging, and throw it back at him:
