Chad Ochocinco’s Cereal Box Features Sexy Mistake

Bengals star Chad Ochocinco created OchocincO’s to help raise money for a worthy cause, the “Feed the Children” charity.  There was one little problem, though – well-meaning people who called the 1-800 number on the box to donate funds were directed to a phone-sex line.

The mistake was pretty innocent, as the cereal listed 1-800-HELP-FTC as Feed the Children’s number when the group’s real number is 1-888-HELP-FTC.  But those three little numbers connected people to something not-so-innocent – a sexy female voice asking for their credit card number.  After twelve calls to the 800 number, I can confirm that is what happens.

OchocincO’s are essentially a Honey Nut Cheerios rip-off, but come in a much cooler box with Ochocinco’s gold teeth airbrushed out of the picture.  PLB Sports, who makes celebrity-endorsed foods, was responsible for the error.  But the company who once produced Flutie Flakes and badass cereals like John Elway’s Comeback Crunch probably has earned a mulligan.

To his credit, Ochocinco has already apologized and notified the local ABC affiliate, WCPO-9, that the mistake will be rectified.  In another strange twist, the retail price of the cereal, $2.99, is the same price as a minute of hot talk on the phone-sex line.  Your choice, Cincy.
