Chicago Bears Fan Braves Cold In Overalls, Becomes Internet Hero

Sometimes, TV cameras catch a fan at a sporting event you just know will go on to greater fame. (One example: this.) Yesterday, during the Bears’ 35-24 win over the Seahawks, we might have had another such moment, thanks to one Bears fan who refused to give in to the cold.

The picture of this gentleman immediately became an immensely popular item, but reaction to him was mixed. A sampling of comments:

I would buy this guy a beer. Living in a tourist town I meet a few Bears fans once in a while and they have all been really cool.

Whoever his legal guardian is should be arrested for letting that poor mentally disabled man go out there like that, dressed in Bears regalia. My god.

I was the only Bears fan watching the game in a Philadelphia bar. When this guy came on the screen, I was a little embarrassed to be affiliated with the same team as this guy.

Oh come on. That guy is Chicago. A human sausage obviously of north-European descent.

So maybe he’s not quite an internet hero, but he’s certainly the subject of much internet discussion. And really, being the subject of much discussion pretty much does make him an internet hero. At the very least, he has to wear that outfit again for the NFC championship game, doesn’t he? Only then can we truly find out whether this or the cheesehead is more dignified.
