Deion Sanders Sings Classic Rap Song On Air, Adds Own F-Bomb Surprise?

Devin Hester is outrageously good at returning punts. He’s better at returning punts than almost anyone in the world has ever been at anything. And yesterday against the Lions, he added to his legend with an 82-yard return score that was the 12th punt return touchdown of his career, and 17th overall kick return score.

So good is Hester that when breaking down the Bears’ 37-13 win on the NFL Network, the sight of him moved Deion Sanders (quite the return man himself back in the day) to break into song. There were, however, a couple problems with Deion’s serenade:

The first, and biggest problem: the F bomb. No, it’s not the most noticeable (that would probably be this one, which I will use any excuse to link to), but I and others (including tipster David) went back to listen multiple times, and that’s an F bomb if I ever heard one.

The second problem is interesting too. The song Deion is singing: “Regulate,” by Warren G. If you click that link and go to the 3:20 mark, you’ll hear the line Deion was singing. It goes: “If you know like I know/You don’t wanna step to this.” Deion, though, sang: “If you know what I know/You don’t wanna f— with this.” In other words, he invented his own F bomb; the actual song doesn’t even have one there (or anywhere else). And then, he compounded the mistake by singing it on television. No, in this case we’re afraid Deion [puts on sunglasses] … wasn’t ready for Prime Time. YEEEEAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!

UPDATE: One commenter says that what Deion was actually singing (and sang the day before) was “PUNT TO this,” not “f— with this.” This commenter also informed me that I “FAIL!!!” So, since “you don’t wanna punt to this” would make more sense, I went back and listened. And…I’m just not hearing anything but an F bomb. Maybe that wasn’t Deion’s intention, but to my ears (and this post’s other commenter), it doesn’t sound like “punt to.” Beyond that, we leave the decision to you.

Dumb. He said “If you know what I know, then you dont wanna PUNT to this”. He sang the same lyrics multiple times yesterday during hester highlights. FAIL!!!

Why would he lower his voice so much right as he was saying it? It’s clearly an F-bomb, listen to it again, he says “with this” not “to this” even more proof that he dropped a bomb

How does that clown still have a job? He is the worst football analyst on tv today. Nfl network has some really good people on and yet has this idiot and Sapp on. Guess they dont watch their own shows.

He has a job  because Deion is exactly what the networks want.  A Stepin Fetchit house Negro acting like a StepinFetchit house Negro on national television.  This is the problem with some African American announcers on NFL and NBA broadcasts.  They act like hood rats in their announcing during the games and it’s a tragedy.  This is major television broadcasting and the ghetto mentality is what producers want.  Guess that see that as bringing in viewers but those days are long gone.

Networks need to realize that they are networks and not episodes of Def Comedy Jam.  Get these house Negroes off the air and maybe, just maybe there will be higher respect for announcers like James Brown and Scott Stuart.  Deion is a house Negro period.  And being an African American  blogger this is the crap that brings us back to Stepin Fetchit.

Awful display of announcing on television.  Thought we were past that but is seems Massa is not past this.
