Today In Fantastic Arrests: The Eagles’ Dion Lewis, For Drunkenly Pulling A Fire Alarm

A football player was arrested this weekend, and it wasn’t Adrian Peterson, and he wasn’t on the Detroit Lions! That’s right, Dion Lewis of the Philadelphia Eagles was the player breaking the law when he pulled a fire alarm at a hotel in Albany.

The story is a doozy: Lewis and his brother were guests at the hotel, and came back late-night and shitty. The hotel’s lobby doors lock at midnight, but any guest with a key can enter. But drunk ol’ Dion Lewis and his brother started banging on the glass, and when no one responded, they decided to pull the fire alarm.

According to the Times Union, police said Lewis and his brother were locked out of a Hampton Inn, and after attempts to re-enter the hotel failed, the two began banging on the locked sliding glass door in the lobby. The brothers then pulled the alarm, police told the paper.

The second-year running back and his brother were both intoxicated at the time of the incident, the paper said.

Lewis must have been silly drunk. Because getting locked out is one thing, but since Lewis was a guest, he had to have had a key.

Lewis, an Albany native, was a guest at the hotel at the time of the incident, police told the Times Union. The hotel’s manager told the paper that the door is locked after midnight to anyone without a key.

Guest = key.

I’m sure the Eagles are really happy about this. Can’t wait for the surveillance video that will inevitably begin with Lewis walking into the glass sliding doors, not knowing what’s going on.

Austin Powers style jokes about fire, engage!
