Worry Not: The “Terrible Woman Steals Donald Driver’s Cleats From A Kid” Story Ended Well
Remember when Donald Driver threw his shoe to a kid, but a grown woman wrestled it away from the kid? That was the worst, right? It was, but what you’ll see below is decidedly not the worst. Because what you see below is Driver making it right.
As it turned out, Driver himself wasn’t any happier about the woman getting her hands on the show than anyone else, even saying he wanted to “get this boy the cleats he deserves.” (That erased any idea in the woman’s mind that the shoe was actually meant for her, we’d imagine.) Anyway, Driver didn’t just say it – at the end of an interview the boy gave during the media blitz that resulted from the video blowing up, he made good:
And there you have it. The kid’s happy. Driver’s happy. The woman? Well, she got the original cleat and reportedly apologized, so she’s done all the conscience-clearing she can. Everyone wins, or comes out about the best they could have. Good on you, Donald. This might just make up for that Dancing with the Stars victory celebration.
