Football Player’s Sex Tape Costs Him A Reebok Endorsement Deal
It’s easy for us on our laptops at home to think the only cost of having a sex tape released is some good-natured ribbing in the locker room and several awkward conversations with your doctor.
But in the case of Brandon Spikes, the New England Patriots linebacker who had a sexually explicit video of his bedroom exploits leaked to the web last week, the cost is significantly higher.
According to SportsByBrooks, Reebok, which had inked Spikes to an endorsement deal, rescinded the offer after seeing, um, more of him than they would have preferred. The deal’s base figure was $60,000, a number that reportedly included bonuses for “playing achievement incentives.”
Look on the bright side though, Spikes’ fans: at least this time we can assume any orifice he tried to enter was consensual, a major departure from the norm for the former Florida Gator.
