Hard Knocks Recap: “Where Are You, Revis?” (Video)

As Rex laments the absence of his star cornerback (“Where are you Revis?” he asks as he wanders an empty room), Jets GM Mike Tannenbaum scrambles to get a deal done.

When Tannenbaum leaves a secret meeting with Revis’ agents at Roscoe Diner, however, he seems dejected.

“We’re so frickin far apart that I feel like a failure,” he says after the meeting. “I wish I had another card to play here.”

Who gets cut: Aaron Kia, a rookie out of Hawaii who has trouble picking up the nuances of the NFL game. Ditto for Kevin Basped, a young linebacker and physical freak who’s cursed with bad knees. This one was actually a bummer.

Memorable quotes: “You Nacho!” – Bart Scott, to Mark Sanchez.

“Nachos aren’t real Mexican food. I’m gonna tell Bart that. That’ll get him.” – Mark Sanchez, in retaliation.

“You’ve got to be shittin’ me, Weeks.” – Rex Ryan, when he finds out one of his coaches is using tanning spray.

“If you’ve got people here, a significant other or family, you don’t have curfew. If you’re a loser, and don’t have anybody here, than tough shit. You have curfew at 12:30.” – Ryan, on curfew.

“Ugh. It’s definitely starting to rain.” – Joe Namath’s cute daughter (granddaughter?), while Broadway Joe tries to teach her how to quarterback.

“That’s when you know you’re handsome. When guys talk about you.” – Ryan, after some fans call him “Sexy Rexy.”

“Get out the club!” – John Connor (aka The Terminator) after blowing up a defender.

Rex Ryan F bomb tirade of the night: “The best place to be is when expectations are high. We’re better than you, we don’t give a fuck if you know it or not. We’re gonna beat the fuck out of ya’.”
