Cowboys’ Martellus Bennett Is Newest ‘Naked Athlete Picture Club’ Member

You might have heard of Martellus Bennett, and if you have, there’s a good chance it wasn’t for his on-field exploits as a reserve Cowboys tight end.

No, you probably knew him for an offensive rap video and his follow-up apology that really wasn’t an apology. Or maybe you heard about him a few weeks ago, when he released a video of himself playing a character called Osama Been Happenin. Or maybe you’re just hearing about him today, because MediaTakeOut posted naked pictures of him (link NSFW, obviously). It’s always something with this guy.

There’s a lot to like about MediaTakeOut’s handling of this. Deadspin enjoyed the cartoonish graphic they used to obscure his nether regions, though they also point out something not to like – they originally confused Bennett with ESPN’s Marcellus Wiley. We, for our part, whole-heartedly endorse MediaTakeOut’s use of “nekkid.” It reminds us of this commercial that once caused us to wonder whether we were hallucinating.

But mostly, this picture leak yet again serves as a lesson to athletes – treat your significant others well, and do not take pictures that involve your exposed penis in some way. Alas, we doubt they will take this lesson to heart.
