Morning Links: Tim Tebow Wasn’t The Only One Who Got A Dumb Haircut

While you were sleeping, SportsGrid was up all night watching TV and searching the internet for links to help get your day started. Today, Raiders rookies get hazed, USA Basketball gains two stars, and K-Rod faces assualt charges.

Sorry for slacking on the links today. I was busy interviewing gentlemen and heads of state. To the news desk!

- At Raiders training camp, much like Broncos training camp, rookies are apparently hazed by getting extremely bad haircuts. Here is the funniest one, made so simply by the look on this particular guy’s face:

Party in the front. Barren in the middle. Bigass fiesta in the back. Accept it. Love it.

- Carmelo Anthony and Chris Paul announced their intentions to play for the US men’s basketball team at the 2012 Olympics in London. They were interviewed during a US team scrimmage. Also in attendance: LeBron James, who didn’t speak to reporters. He was probably still sick from all the cotton candy.

- Francisco Rodriguez was charged with assault yesterday afternoon for allegedly beating up his girlfriend’s dad. According to the NYPD K-Rod “went into the family lounge, hauled [the dad] into an adjoining tunnel and ‘repeatedly hit him in the face and hit his head against a wall.’” Also painful for the victim: his daughter is dating a guy on the Mets /Norm MacDonald voice.

- Max Kellerman is hosting “Rick’s List” tonight on CNN at 8PM. If you decide to be a losah tonight and stay in, check it out. Kellerman was great on ESPN Radio in New York, and will no doubt be great on CNN.

- And, finally, Dez Bryant: extremely rich Foot Locker employee.

Check back in with SportsGrid all day to satisfy your sports-meets-pop-culture sensibilities.
