“Of Course It Matters” That Peyton Hillis Is A White Running Back, Says “PTI”

Peyton Hillis is very close to becoming the first white running back to gain 1,000 yards rushing since Craig James in 1982 (he needs just 38 against Buffalo this weekend).

Today, America’s favorite interracial married couple, Tony Kornheiser and Michael Wilbon, decided to delve into this possilby-sensitive issue on “Pardon the Interruption.”

Among the things we learn: this is a big deal, America’s crop of young white running backs are being steered towards lacrosse, and Tim Legler and Chris Mullin have some awesome stories about being white and playing basketball.

The fact that he is a white RB is in fact a big deal in that there are not many in the league today

Much like a true white American basketball player

Much like the stories of declining true black baseball players

Race stories are not racist in itself
