Osi Umenyiora: Rookie Quarterback With Cool Nickname Has Not Yet Earned That Cool Nickname

Osi Umenyiora has commenced the shit-talking in a division that loves to shit talk.

In an interview with the New York Post in which Osi said Rex Ryan had finally learned his lesson about jawing too much, the Giants defensive end decided to, well… jaw.

His target? One Robert “Bob” Griffin III.

“Who is this RG3 guy you guys keep talking about?’’ Umenyiora said. “You talking about Bob Griffin? You guys are giving him a cool nickname already and everything. When he does anything in the NFL we’re gonna call him RG3. Right now he’s Bob Griffin.’’

Osi has a point, right? I mean, sure the guy one a Heisman, but so did Troy Smith and Matt Leinart. They practically hand those things out anyway, don’t they?

Still, as the Washington Post astutely pointed out, Bob is a nickname for Robert. So, score one for RG3. And he didn’t even have to open his mouth.
