Ray Lewis Seems To Think His Settlement Money To The Murder Victims’ Families Was Actually Charity

As we all know, Ray Lewis was accused of murder, but he negotiated a plea agreement that left him a free man. Lewis was never proven guilty, and he says he was wrongly accused. The families of the two murdered victims don’t forgive Lewis.

On CBS’s Super Bowl pregame show, Shannon Sharpe addressed Lewis about what he’d say to the families.

Nobody knows if Ray Lewis was actually involved. It’s unclear. But something is clear: the families involved had to endure a tragedy. Whether that was Lewis’s fault in any capacity has nothing to do with that.

Lewis really said this:

“The one thing I said that, because my name was used the wrong way, money is the last thing I’m worried about, but if money will help those kids out – and not just those kids but any kid I can help, any family I can support, I’ll support,” Lewis said to Sharpe. “So don’t just take that family and say I gave money to that family, because I’ve given money to thousands of families time and time again, just to find a different way to help somebody through a rough time.”

This is why people hate Ray Lewis. He seriously equated the family’s settlement money to charity. For clarification, Ray, charity is not given to save your own ass. If that were the case, philanderers and murderers and nefarious corporations would be our true American heroes.

Get ready to hear this man analyze sports regularly, America. This should be fun.

Ray Lewis got away with murder. I have no sympathy for the man.

    shoddy piece of writing

    shameful actually

he didn’t plea his way out of a double murder charge..THOSE charges were dropped

and the obstruction of justice charge was because he didn’t tell the police what he SAW

and let’s be real about something, Matt, you don’t give a rat’s ass about the victim…or anybody who looks like him, so please get off the bull, shitt

Sorry, sir, you are incorrect. I’m no lawyer, but I have good reading skills. He made a deal that allowed him to avoid his murder charges, by paying money, pleading guilty to a misdemeanor, and testifying against his friends.

And not that it makes me some sort of saint – just a human – but yes, I do care about the victims. It is an incredibly tragic story, regardless of Lewis’s involvement.

I’m a Nets fan, though. Go Nets! Do you like the Devils, too? I’m a big fan.

It’s amazing how some of you are still up in arms about this……We see people make all kind of deals to avoid going to jail everyday but nobody makes a big deal about it. The fact is Ray Lewis could give less than a damn about how you all feel about him…hate him or love him! Get over it clowns and move on with your own empty lives and stop worrying about somebody else’s. You are exactly right getthesenets, this article is just another trashy piece of Ray Lewis bashing by someone who couldn’t hold Ray’s jockstrap!

“yes, i do care about the victims.” Yeah right… All you care about is views

Lewis may be a great football player, but he is still a POS human being.

Grammar is your friend. Embrace it.

Lewis negotiated his way out of the murder charges. When he settled the personal law suit, he insisted upon a confidentiality clause. I’ve always felt that anyone that insists their testimony be kept secret is hiding something.

Yikes, go Nets, big game tonight!!

What? I’m way better than Ray at football. That is non-negotiable.

For all of the people taking up for Ray Lewis, go back and read about the actual case….. You’d be surprised. Basically, after tossing the evidence against him (his clothes didn’t even make it home? sure sounds like an innocent man) – he testified against his friends…and then paid off the victims’ families. (and court system?) Also, witnesses changed their testimony at the hearing and his little cohorts got off, too. More “charity” perhaps? So to recap, evidence (his clothing) disappeared – HE DID narc out his fellow people and he did pay the families…..Doesn’t sound “charity money” to me. Something that he doesn’t understand – his money after the crime doesn’t bring back those families loved ones. Thug – any station that hires him won’t have me watching it.

You mean the part where he pleaded guilty about lying to the police?

  • amazd

The homicides were ruled JUSTIFIED! Lewis was tried for bad judgement, not murder.
