Watch Rex Ryan Grow Progressively More Outraged, Then Finally Lose It

Ah, preseason football. That glorious time when rookies and new acquisitions, unaccustomed to a team’s playbook and terminology, mess up so gloriously that it causes their coaches to have the kinds of epic meltdowns that coaches are famous for.

Last night during his team’s preseason opener against the Texans, Jets coach Rex Ryan had such a meltdown.

Upon noticing that his defense had too many men on the field, Ryan became annoyed, because, you know, he’s a defensive genius and all. He attempted to call a timeout, but his gesturing wasn’t seen by the officials. Annoyance turned to anger, and as the seconds tick away and a penalty becomes imminent, Rex gets dangerously close to running on the field and intervening himself. Anger turned to outrage.

Finally, a headset was sacrificed.
