Here’s A List Of More Phrases RGIII Has Trademarked

Shortly after Robert Griffin III was drafted second overall by the Washington Redskins, he started thinking of his off-the-field pursuits and his “brand” (/shudders). He hired an attorney and created the LLC “Thr3escompany,” as well as having already trademarked RGIII, RG3, Robert Griffin III. And “unbelievably unbelievable,” for the following reasons:
“Griffin’s company specified in the trademark applications that his monikers would be used on shirts, sweatshirts, jackets, pants, shorts, footwear, hats, caps and athletic uniforms.”
“Unbelievably believable,” if you didn’t know, is a reference to his Heisman speech: “This is unbelievably believable. It’s unbelievable because in the moment we’re all amazed when great things happen. But it’s believable because great things don’t happen without hard work,” he said after accepting the award.
But according to DC Sports Bog, the trademarking spree isn’t quite over. Thr3escompany has submitted further applications for the following phrases:

We weren’t aware that cliches were subject to trademarking, but there you have it.
Athletes trademarking the simplest of phrases, however, isn’t anything new – here are some of the more famous ones.
“Three-peat (Pat Riley). Let’s get ready to rumble! (Michael Buffer). Refuse to lose (John Calipari). Manny being Manny (Manny Ramirez). Let’s play two (Ernie Banks). Hit King (Pete Rose). Turn 2 (Derek Jeter). LIVESTRONG (Lance Armstrong). Holla Energy (Kevin Garnett). He Hate Me (Rod Smart). Mr. October (Reggie Jackson). Fab Five (Jalen Rose). You cannot be serious (John McEnroe). Stomp you out (Michael Strahan). Lovee (Venus and Serena Williams). Mad Chad (Chad Johnson/Ochocinco). Kobe Bryant Flight 24 (Kobe Bryant). Thorpedo (Ian Thorpe).”
It’s fun to think that there was time when Rod Smart was relevant enough to trademark “He Hate Me.”
