The Rose Report: Top Tweets Of the Week (1/7)

Former NBA star and current ESPN Analyst Jalen Rose offers his take on the five most influential Twitter users of the week. They could be players, media personalities, or something else entirely – as long as they’re impactful and controversial, they’re in his starting five. Follow Jalen on Twitter here.

What Up Doe?! This week’s top tweets feature movie critic Roger Ebert, former Tennessee Titans quarterback Vince Young, soccer player Marvin Morgan, the Dallas Mavericks’ Caron Butler, and singer Toni Braxton.

1. Roger Ebert apologizes for Huck Finn flap

Why: Because Ebert should stick to picking movies instead of juggling racist statements!

2. Vince Young thanks Titans fans for the memories

Why: Because Young should be a starter again next season, since plenty of NFL teams are in need of a proven QB w/a winning record…

3. Soccer player Marvin Morgan goes way over the line

“Like to thank the fans who booed me off the pitch. Where’s that going to get you! I hope you all die.”

Why: Because I never heard of this guy until this tweet, but talk about bad judgment.

4. Caron Butler stays positive after season-ending surgery

Why: Because the Mavs will need Butler on the court if they have any shot of winning a champion ship this season.

5. Toni Braxton mulls over doing Playboy

Why: Better late than never!

Jalen Rose is a former Michigan Wolverine, NBA star, and current commentator for ESPN. You can catch him on ESPN’s “Kia NBA Countdown.”
