Steve Young To Brian Urlacher: “You Got Tebowed. Take It Like A Man.”

The legend once again grew on Sunday. Despite a putrid first three quarters, Broncos quarterback and noted media lightning rod Tim Tebow engineered another fourth quarter comeback, leading Denver to a 13-10 victory over the fading Chicago Bears. That brings Tebow’s record as a starter to 7-1, with six of those victories being of the come-from-behind variety.

But wait! Despite Tebow’s late-game heroics, some of the Bears weren’t particularly impressed with Tebow’s Tebowing. Like seven-time Pro Bowl linebacker Brian Urlacher, who had a front row seat to said Tebowing.

After Sunday’s loss, Urlacher offered this backhanded compliment to Tebow:

“He’s a good running back, man. He runs the ball well.”

Yikes. The insinuation, of course, is that Tebow isn’t a good quarterback. It’s a bit of a low blow, considering that’s always been the knock on Tebow: he’s just a glorified fullback. And the fact that Urlacher’s quote (which has gotten a lot of attention) came right after a Bears loss only makes it look even more like sour grapes.

Well, ESPN Analyst Steve Young had some advice for Urlacher on last night’s late edition of SportsCenter. That advice? Take it like a man.

“To me, he did it to you,” said Young. “He Tebowed you. Just take it like a man and walk away. You lost your shot.”

Oof. I guess now is the moment where we point out Young is a Hall of Fame quarterback.

Oh shutup Steve Young. Urlacher called it right and was complimentary to Tebow. Tebow stunk for most of the game as a passer (his accuracy was awful) but played better as a runner. Urlacher saying it like it was IS NOT A DISS on TEBOW. Talk about blowing everything way out of proportion ! If anyone opens their mouth about Bronco Moses they better compliment every aspect of his existence or else they are dissing him. BS. Not even Tebow likes the excessive attention. He knows everyone else is stepping up for him to help them win TOGETHER AS A TEAM. That being said Tebow is a lot better passer in the 4th quarters.
