Students At A Denver-Area School Can’t Wear Peyton Manning Jerseys Because Of Gangs

Freakin’ gangs. They have to ruin everything.

Yes, much like promising fictional high school running back Ricky of Boyz n the Hood fame, America’s gangs have once again wrecked something football-related and pure: the ability for students in Denver’s Weld County school District 6 to wear Peyton Manning jerseys.

Fox News explains.

“They told me I couldn’t wear 18 anymore because it’s a gang number and I had to take it off,” said Konnor Vanatta during an interview with FOX31 Denver on Tuesday.

Vanatta, a third grader in the Weld County School System, was disappointed to learn that the number 18 is considered to represent gang affiliations and is not allowed on clothing inside county classrooms.

The kids?

Heartbroken.

As Shutdown Corner notes, Manning’s has been the number one seller among NFL jerseys since April. But since the mere sight of his patented #18 could very well start a knife fight in Mrs. Johnson’s third grade art class, nobody in Weld County District 6 can profess their allegiance to their legendary quarterback with the robot neck. For shame, District 6.
