The Brother Of Bills Defensive Tackle Marcell Dareus Was Killed In A Triple Homicide

A sad report out of Pelham, Alabama, has emerged regarding Buffalo Bills’ defensive tackle Marcell Dareus. His Brother, Simeon Gilmore, was reportedly one of three victims in a triple homicide that took place on Sunday.

Here’s more, via CBS 42 in Birmingham:

“Simeon Gilmore, the 19-year-old brother of Dareus, died from gunshot wounds at a Pelham home, as did Casey Cumberland and Joshua Smith, both aged 22. Jon Staggs, age 20, has been charged with three counts of capital murder, and is being held in Shelby County prison without bond.”

Details are scarce at this point, but Dareus is reportedly headed home to Birmingham to be with his family. A former star defensive player for the Alabama Crimson Tide, Dareus was the third overall pick by the Bills in the 2011 NFL Draft. He recorded 5.5 sacks in 16 games during his rookie season last year.
